A workcation is a work vacation whereby one travels for a holiday while still working. Here, you’re killing two birds with one stone, travelling and also getting your work done.

A workcation is more suitable for people who work remotely from home or who are freelancers.

It is also an important aspect in developing a healthy work-life relationship.

How long can a workcation last?

It can be short-term or long-term. This means that it can last for days, weeks or even months. It can last as long as you want it to be.

How can I take a workcation?

You can take a work vacation by first getting permission from your boss. After you’ve gotten permission, you need to do research on the country you’re planning on travelling to by making findings on the right accommodation for you, time zones which can affect your work, internet availability etc. 

Also, you need to plan your workcation ahead of time, plan your trip accordingly, pack all the necessary things you need for your trip and also prepare a list of what you want to do while on a vacation.

What do I need for a workcation?

You need an accomodation with good internet connection, cell phone service, an office space, serene environment etc. 

In addition, you need to make plans to purchase important gadgets that can make working while on a vacation easier for you. These gadgets include a good laptop and cell phone, webcam, wi-fi etc.

To add to this, you will need some cash which is very important, a new friend who could show you around and keep you company.

What are the benefits of a workcation?

There are a lot of benefits of going on a work vacation. Some of them include; reduced employee burnout, morale boost, rise in employee productivity and quality of job done, rise in job satisfaction, increased life-span of employees etc.

What are some countries I could go to for a workcation?

Any nice country will do just fine. It could be in Africa, South America, Europe or Asia. Some nice places for a work vacation include; Zanzibar, Maldives, Turkey, Iceland etc.

Conclusion:

It doesn’t really matter where you’re going for a work vacation, what matters is that you’re able to work effectively and also have a lot of fun. After all, that’s the main purpose for going on a work vacation.
